Meraki Shiraz 2021
Meraki Shiraz 2021
This vintage has beautiful, concentrated dark red fruit flavours with spicy white pepper, chocolate and cassis undertones that lingers in the glass. The palate is elegant and smooth with fine tannins that complements the wine. The wine is rich with a lingering savoury finish with just enough oak integration.

Other | The grapes that are used to make the Meraki Shiraz are grown in the well-known Stellenbosch wine region. Stellenbosch is most famous for producing some of the best Cabernet Sauvignon wines in the world but is also well known for producing very elegant style Shiraz wines. The vineyard is situated 150 m above sea-level on a South to South-East slope facing the beautiful False Bay. The single vineyard block is farmed with great attention, minimal intervention and sustainable techniques. The soils consist of decomposed granite and is some of the oldest viticultural soils in the world. The vines are trellised and irrigated to create optimum conditions for the grapes to reach optimum ripeness before being hand harvested. 3 Weeks before harvest the vines were stressed and no irrigation was given to the block. This method helps to concentrate the fruit flavours in each individual berry. The concept of happy vines produce great wines are applied on this vineyard. |
